Perhaps it does, perhaps it doesn't, explain Windows. Flaming someone
else's choice of Operating System is just asking to start a flame war,
something I consider a pointless waste of my time.
I not certain what it is you are talking about taking "all of 22
seconds". Are you using your browser to log in to DynDNS and then do
your steps? I've been using DynDNS Updater in my system tray to
accomplish the same thing for many, many years, I think Xitami was at
0.9 something when I first started. I've now made running DynDNS Updater
obsolete.
What I'm talking about is using the Xitami Administration page,
Configuration and then the DDNS Setup page to set this up so that when
Xitami starts it automatically sets my address on DynDNS for me. Perhaps
it is the "hard way" to get things working right, but I strongly doubt
that it's the "hard way" when I reduce your 22 seconds to 0 seconds.
